News reports indicate that a jury convicted Cole Campbell on Friday of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. The report indicated that Campbell and Timothy Skipper became involved in an argument in Clay Twp. That is when Skipper asked Campbell not to drive around his home at high speeds. Campbell is reported to have pulled a rifle on skipper and shot him three times. He was charged with homicide, but the jury acquitted Campbell of that charge. Campbell’s attorney claimed the shooting was in self defense, but the jury said no. Sentencing will take place in January.
