The Altoona Mirror reports that the airport got a grant from Penndot’s aviation development program of some $1.125 million to help with a project by St. Francis University. The program is for students to learn how to become experienced and trained skilled maintenance technicians. The grant, along with a local match of $375,000 will go for a new parking lot, surface repaving at hangar 15 and the installation of a new entrance gate to the hangar.
