A report by WTAJ indicates that Altoona Police arrested 35 year old Jeffrey Burgmeier III at the Chestnut Ave Sheetz store last Friday. The report indicates that officers were called to the store, and spotted Burgmeier around 11 pm Friday night, when he took off toward the 7th street bridge. A responding officer tackled Burgmeier and began to fight wit him. Burgmeier is accused of striking the officer several times with an open hand. Police found drug paraphenalia on his person. Burgmeier is charged with aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphenalia, escape and resisting arrest.
