A 44 year old Altoona man was sentenced yesterday to 20-40 years in prison for sexually abusing two children beginning in 2012. In a negotiated plea deal, James M. Brandt pled guilty yesterday, instead of proceeding with a jury trial which was scheduled for later this week. Asst., District Attorney Derek Elensky noted that this negotiated plea would spare the two female victims, who are now teens, from having to testify.
