A Dallas firm has submitted a proposal to the Altoona Parking Authority asking that it manage parking in downtown Altoona. The proposal, from Platinum Parking, is proposing to install an entry and exit station along with barrier gates at the Transportation Center Garage that would allow “transient” customers to pull a coded ticket when they enter, and monthly customers to use card readers. Under a proposed three year contract the company would be responsible for equipment and the authority would pay a monthly management fee. The Parking Authority now plans to review this latest proposal.
