The Altoona Mirror reports that the board voted this week to try and keep the millage rates for the three counties that are located within the district boundaries to where they are now. Again with all school district budgets, nothing on tax millage won’t be discussed or voted upon until budgets are presented for public inspection and getting ready to be voted on. The Tyrone school district includes residents in Blair, Huntingdon and Centre counties. The tax limit is 7.5% for the next school year, which is at its highest level ever. That percentage rate was blamed on the economy.
