Details are thin, but officials do say that crews were called out to a blaze on the 1000 block of 3rd Avenue. The fire had reportedly spread to three homes in the neighborhood. Altoona fire chief Adam Free said that the flames broke out at the residence at 1002, then spread to 1004 and 1006 around 1:20 yesterday morning. 7 people in all were displaced by the fire, but none wer injured. The red cross was on scene rendering assistance. The fire is under investigation, and the cause is still unknown.
