The Altoona Mirror reports that Judge Jackie Bernard ruled that statements given to state police by accused killer Vasudev Aswathappa will be admissible at his upcoming murder trrial. He is accused of killing is brother back in July 2021. The victim, Suryadev Aswathappa was found dead in the basement of his home. Vasudev was picked up by police just hours after the victim was found. Judge Bernard ruled that Aswathappa was properly mirandized and questioned by police after his arrest, so his motion to supress the statements he made was denied. The trial is set for court review next month, and will proceed to trial sometime in 2024.
