Declawing Cats in Pa., May Become Illegal

Declawing cats has been a controversial procedure for some time and now a Pennsylvania State lawmaker is proposing legislation that would make it illegal. The practice has typically been performed to prevent cats from using their claws to scratch people or furniture, but it is widely considered to be an unnecessary and inhumane procedure.  Democratic Senator Carolyn Comitta of Chester is looking for lawmakers to co-sponsor her bill.  New York State previously banned the practice and a number of cities also have laws against it.
