
A Centre Hall man has charges pending against him after stabbing a dog to death in Penns Valley while under the influence of mushrooms. State Police have identified him as 41 year old Robert Lewis. Lewis reportedly consumed several beers and mushrooms and ran into the street where the American Bull dog named Axel followed him. Two individuals chased after Lewis in an attempt to get the dog, only to find the dog had been stabbed multiple times. The dog was taken to a vet and underwent surgery but later died. Lewis has been taken to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment. He is to be charged with felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, public drunkenness and numerous other charges.
