A report out of Harrisburg via WTAJ indicates that one state rep from Erie, has received more in travel reimbursements than his yearly salary. Rep. Pat Harkins reported that he has received more than $154,000 in travel reimbursements going to and from Harrisburg, including charging the taxpayers for every mile he drives for constituent events and service. That $154,000+ is on top of his annual salary, which next week will increase to $106,000 per year, along with all other representatives in the capitol. 2 other Erie representatives Ryan Bizzaro and Bob Merski had received a little more than $11,000 combined in reimbursements in 2021 combined. Harkins also, collected more than twice as much reimbursement as Merski and Bizzaro combined in 2022.
