A package of sexual harassment bills has been introduced at the state capitol. The bills come after State Representative Mike Zabel resigned amid a sexual harassment allegation in March. Mike Vereb also resigned. He was Governor Josh Shapiro’s Secretary of Legislative Affairs and caused the state to make a nearly 300-thousand-dollar settlement to a woman he allegedly sexually harassed. The five lawmakers who filed the legislative package say they want to make significant reforms to protect taxpayers and victims. The resolutions include amending the House Ethical Conduct Rules to add “non-verbal acts” to the definition of sexual harassment and to allow the Commonwealth to seek reimbursement from state settlement of judgments.
