So-called “skill games” are legal in Pennsylvania. This, according to Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court, which upheld a lower court ruling that affirmed the legality of so-called ‘skill games’ that reward successful players with cash. The unanimous decision by the court’s seven members affirmed supporters’ position that the games are won by virtue of skill rather than chance, differentiating the devices from slot machines and illegal gambling devices. Officials say the state will appeal the ruling to the Pennsylvania Supreme Count.
