A Centre County man has been charged after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a traveling nurse at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Police say 65 year old Randy Ripka from Pleasant Gap, had been admitted to the hospital last week and the victim in this case was assigned to care for him. Police say during an exam, Ripka allegedly began making sexually explicit comments to the nurse, and grabbed her to try and force her to perform sexual acts on him. Police report the nurse was able to break free and reported the incident to her supervisor. Ripka was reportedly arraigned yesterday on charges of attempted sexual assault and numerous other charges. He has since been released on unsecured bail.
