Today is the last day people can enroll in the Affordable Care Act health plans in the state, and have the coverage available to them on January 1st. Individuals can still sign up until Jan 15th but that would mean, coverage would not kick in until February first, meaning they would miss an entire month of coverage. The coverage is available through Pennie, The Pennsylvania-run electronic marketplace, selling plans that became available as a result of the Affordable Care Act. About 360,000 state residents had coverage through Pennie last year.
