A deployment ceremony was held for nearly 300 Pennsylvania soldiers with the Pennsylvania National Guard’s 2nd Battalion 112th Infantry Regiment. Governor Josh Shapiro and family members attended the ceremony yesterday. A few days after Christmas, soldiers will be going to Africa for nine months to support the U.S. Africa Command and partner forces with “security objectives in the region.” Shapiro says it takes a very special person to protect this country and we are forever grateful for their service.
