State officials are warning that a respiratory illness in dogs that continues to spread across the U.S. is now active in the Keystone State. Authorities say symptoms of the as-yet-unnamed illness include lethargy, eye and nasal discharge, and a long-lasting cough. Some symptoms reportedly can persist for as long as three weeks, and veterinary experts say the illness can quickly spread from dog to dog. Concerned dog owners are advised to contact a veterinarian if their dog shows symptoms. Health officials say the illness poses no threat to humans.
