The University of Pennsylvania says it will respond to a state Republican lawmaker’s demands soon. House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler of Lancaster said in a letter late last week that he wants to withhold 33-million-dollars in annual funds for Penn’s veterinary school from this year’s state budget. He says that will be done until the university proves it can keep students safe from antisemitism.  Penn’s former president resigned earlier this month after failing to reject student comments regarding the genocide of Jews.  A Penn spokesperson says in a statement that the school will “respond shortly” to Cutler’s letter.
