First Case of Avian Flu in Several Months Found in State

A new case of avian flu has been detected in Pennsylvania after the state has gone several months without a case. Officials say the new case was detected in a game bird flock in Lower Mahanoy Township in Northumberland County.  An area farm has been quarantined and a nearly-half-mile perimeter has been set up around it. Agricultural officials say poultry and eggs continue to be safe to eat.
