State lawmakers will be making at least 106-thousand-dollars annually at the start of the new year. The amount stems from automatic pay increases that have accumulated since 1995. State Senator Doug Mastriano introduced a bill this past session that would have done away with the automatic hikes. But former Democratic staffer Tim Potts tells Spotlight PA that the incentive to change that, likely won’t happen because lawmakers would have to vote for it themselves. State law also allows legislators who serve the General Assembly full-time to hold outside jobs.
