An Altoona woman whose malnourished infant was near death when it was found three years ago was sentenced yesterday. 32 year old Katie Rowles was sentenced to 5 to 20 years. Last month Rowles pled guilty to felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child and numerous other charges. The six-week-old emaciated infant boy was found by a Children, Youth and Families caseworker in May of 2021. The child, who is now three, has reportedly improved in foster care and is expected to be adopted.
