Volunteers and businesses have stepped up to help the Bedford County Humane Society after nearly 100 dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions in a Bedford County home. The dogs were found by State Police, all in cages stacked from floor to ceiling, in a home along Old Route 220. The Bedford County Humane Society took a majority of the dogs in. Many individuals have donated cash, food, supplies along with veterinary and grooming care to help these animals. Monetary donations can be made thru the Bedford County Humane Society website. So far no charges have been filed against the homeowners, an 82 year old man and a 62 year old woman, until an investigation by State Police is completed.
