Initial filings for unemployment benefits in Pennsylvania have risen. The U.S. Department of Labor says new jobless claims increased to just under 16-thousand in the Commonwealth for the week ending December 23rd. That was an over 13-thousand-count increase from the week before. Unemployment claims across the country also rose last week, but those were also affected by a seasonal adjustment.
