A huge butter sculpture that was on display at the Pennsylvania Farm show last week is being recycled at a dairy farm. One-thousand pounds of butter is going to Brett Reinford’s farm in Mifflintown to be made into renewable energy. He uses a methane digester to create energy and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions for his 750 dairy cows. He says the butter from the sculpture will be mixed with other food waste and cow manure and will be enough to produce power for 500 homes.
