Altoona Man Gets 12-25 Years for Drug Death

An Altoona man, identified as Joseph Cassarly Jr. was sentenced yesterday to serve 12-25 years in prison. His sentence was recommended, in exchange for a no contest plea to drug delivery resulting in the death of another.  Cassarly was charged in May of 2021 for the overdose death of 28 year old Andrew Parks of Williamsburg. In September of 2021 State Police in Hollidaysburg charged Cassarly with Parks death. Parks reportedly died from an overdose of several drugs including meth.
