A Republican state lawmaker from Lycoming County is opposing gun rights measures that were approved in the State House Wednesday. One would ban sales of automatic and semi-automatic guns, another would ban future sales of such guns. A separate measure would prohibit devices that increase the rate of gunfire on certain firearms. Representative Joe Hamm says such ideas could lead to the government infringing on Second Amendment rights in broader terms. The measures now continue to the full State House for further consideration.
