The Centre County Sheriff’s Office has announced a new position focused on helping animals. The office noted they will soon have a humane officer. Sheriff Bryan Sampsel reportedly said he wanted to create this position after working with other departments throughout Central Pennsylvania. Deputy Mark Rusnak is expected to serve in the position. Rusnak and other sheriffs who will be working on humane cases, will be completing a two weeks training program in April to become certified humane officers.
