The Pennsylvania State Police recently announced its most recent cadet selection cycle saw over 18 hundred applicants eligible for the state trooper exam, which is another significant increase, nearly six months after Governor Shapiro waived the college credit requirement for applicants. Many of those eligible applicants previously could not apply due to those credit requirements. Last August, Gov. Shapiro suspended the educational requirements of 60 college credits. Applicants have until February 7th to take the state trooper exam, which is the next stage in the hiring process. The next cadet application cycle is scheduled to open February 12th.
