State police have charged a woman for a fatal crash that occurred on William Penn Highway in Huntingdon over a year ago. The victim was identified as John Park, who was pronounced dead at the scene, after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. Charged was 41 year old Shyla Smith who reportedly was returning to Huntingdon from Lewistown when the fatal crash occurred. Authorities say as the investigation progressed they learned that Smith had exited her lane of travel, struck the bicyclist and allegedly fled the scene. Smith was arraigned this week on charges of accidents involving death or injury and other traffic-related violations. She was released from prison on unsecured bail.
