An Altoona man has been charged with rape and is currently behind bars. He’s 32 year old Joseph Ronald Lakin Smith who was arraigned earlier this week on felony charges of rape and numerous other charges. Reportedly Smith is accused of assaulting a female last July in her home on the Juniata Gap Road. Smith faces a preliminary hearing on February 15th.
