PennDOT officials say they’ll be enforcing more DUI and sobriety checkpoints this weekend because of the Super Bowl. The department’s spokesman says the effort is not being done to penalize drivers and that law officers really just want to keep people safe. State data show 46 drinking-related crashes happened on Super Bowl Sunday from 2022, the last year such figures were available.
