Proposal Would Have State Pay More Into PA’s Reinsurance Program

A proposal included in Governor’s Shapiro’s newly-introduced budget plan would boost the minimum benefit provided to make health insurance more affordable. The governor wants to allocate an additional 50-million-dollars into the state’s reinsurance program. He says the new subsidy would help 100-thousand low and middle-income Pennsylvanians who are at risk of losing their current insurance.
