An Altoona man is in jail today after he allegedly assaulted both a woman and a toddler on Sunday afternoon. He’s 26 year old James Peles who witnesses claim they saw threatening the woman outside of a home on the 700 block of Carl Avenue. Reportedly the woman told police that she tried to leave the home thru a back door where Peles followed her. After he allegedly body slammed her, he threatened to kill her if she screamed. Peles is also alleged to have pushed a toddler down on a porch causing the child to hit its head. Peles was arraigned yesterday and taken to the Blair County Prison on charges of aggravated assault, kidnap to inflict injury and numerous other charges. Bail has been set at $100,000.
