Three individuals were arrested in Johnstown earlier this week for an alleged kidnapping of a one year old child. Police say the kidnapping occurred on Wednesday near the Amtrak Station in Johnstown while a local couple was attempting to move out of the area. Authorities say when the couple went to leave, their “renter” identified as 55 year old Kathleen Nash, reportedly told them to leave their one year old daughter behind, something the couple didn’t do, but instead left for the train station. While at the station, they were confronted by 24 year old Gerald Campos-Baez, who Kathleen Nash had contacted earlier. Reportedly Campos-Baez, along with three other males, assaulted the child’s father. Police say while the assault was occurring a woman identified as 34-year old Rebecca Vanskiver and another unidentified woman exited another vehicle and began assaulting the child’s mother. Police say the child was taken from the mothers arms and handed over to Vanskiver. The trio was apprehended and arraigned on Wednesday on numerous charges including kidnapping for ransom and making terroristic threats. All three are being held in the Cambria County Prison.
