Homegrown Rocker Playlist/Recap 8/20/23 (Local Music Live in Concert Special)

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the August 20 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), and from 10 PM to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm)!

For the live music fan and concert connoisseur, we presented the return of the “Local Music Live in Concert Special!” Every song we played this week was recorded live at an area or regional live music venue or event! We debuted a few new area concert cuts along the way, including songs from Mr. Pocket, The Extra Miles and Rue Moyer! We also aired a phone interview with Todd Sharman, singer and the “Tom Petty” of Tom Petty tribute group Full Moon Fever,” who will perform at Altoona’s Mishler Theatre on Friday, August 25. We also dug a 1997 live number from State College’s Queen Bee & the Blue Hornet Band from the archive for a live “Local Music Flashback!” (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 082023.)
