Governor Shapiro has plans for sales taxes from recreational pot sales, if they should become legal in the state. Shapiro has said if a legal marijuana program is launched by 2025, sales would generate 250-million-dollars a year. The governor has said he’d allocate five-million of that for “restorative justice” efforts. He says those would benefit communities that have been negatively impacted by the war on drugs and could include some funds being returned to local governments, too.
