A Bellefonte woman is accused of using money she stole from relatives to send to who she thought was actor Kevin Costner. Spring Township Police say 53 year old Ahyoka Keith, also known as Carol Sumner withdrew at least $64,000 in cash from her 82 year old relatives’ account between 2021 and 2023. Reportedly the money was used to pay scammers online who Keith believed was actor Kevin Costner. Police say when they spoke to Keith she told them she had been talking to the actor over the phone and had sent him nearly $100,000 for “investments.” Keith is charged with nearly 200 counts of identity theft, and over 100 felony counts of criminal use of a communication device, among other charges. She is currently in the Centre County Prison, with bail having been denied. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 13th.
