A  Western Pa., woman says she thought she was going to die when she was mauled by a bear Tuesday night.  Fifty-five-year-old Lee Ann Galante, of Butler County had let her dog outside to relieve itself and stepped out of her Butler Township home when she heard something going on.  That’s when she was attacked by a female bear that officials say had recently given birth in the area to three cubs.  Galante suffered multiple injuries in the attack and a representative of the Pennsylvania Game Commission later euthanized the mother bear.  The cubs were tranquilized and moved to an unknown area. A game commission spokesperson says one of the biggest things to remember is to avoid having sources of food that can attract bears to your property; like bird feeders, open pet food, and uncovered trash cans.  Animal experts say Pennsylvania’s black bears are generally not excessively aggressive and would rather avoid confrontations with humans.
