A Claysburg man who has been wanted on felony charges of aggravated assault since last summer, is in jail today on a half million dollars bail. 27 year old William Dibert was arraigned on Wednesday on numerous charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and strangulation. Last August, Dibert allegedly beat and strangled a woman that he reportedly had been hitting for weeks. When police were dispatched to a home where the abuse was taking place, Dibert fled on foot, and authorities were unable to find him until recently. Dibert has been placed in the Blair County Prison. He faces a preliminary hearing on March 21st.
