If you are traveling on Atherton Street in State College be aware of a change in traffic patterns. PennDOT has announced that its contractor for its Atherton Street project that stretches from Curtin Road to just north of the Westerly Parkway, plans to change the traffic pattern beginning today. Crews will close the right eastbound lane heading toward Boalsburg. The closure will take place between West Irvin Avenue and Centre Lane, with the contractor shifting eastbound traffic into the center turning lane. Also, the left westbound lane heading into State College will be closed. All traffic will use the right lane to pass thru the construction zone. These changes will remain in place until early May, while the contractor completes drainage improvements.
