Progress is being made towards restoring a home in Johnstown that once housed Clara Barton. Barton was the founder of the Red Cross, and she lived in what is called the Ludwig House in downtown Johnstown, while helping survivors of the 1889 flood. Numerous grants have been obtained by Clara Barton House and Gardens Inc., for the restoration. The reconstruction has already begun. An exact timeline as to when the reconstruction will be compete has not been announced.
