An actress form Hershey, Pa., won an Oscar last night in the best supporting actress category. Da’Vine Joy Randolph won for her role in the movie “Holdovers.” Leading up to the Oscars, Randolph had already been the recipient of awards from the Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and the Golden Globes. Randolph moved to Hershey from Philadelphia as a middle school student when her parents became house parents at the Milton Hershey School. While there, she attended the Capital Area School for the Arts in Harrisburg. In an earlier interview, Randolph has said her time spent living at the school influenced her role in the “Holdovers.”
