EMS Overdose Calls Should be Placed in State Database

The state Senate has approved legislation that would require EMS workers to place information on overdose patients into a state database. Republican Senator Doug Mastriano says the state-wide tracking system, his bill calls for, is needed so that health care workers and law officers have access to the same information. The CDC says Pennsylvania has one of the highest rates for drug overdose deaths in the country.
