A state House committee has met to discuss a bill that deals with online safety for children. HB 1879 is called the Pennsylvania Age-Appropriate Design Code Act. Its sponsors say the measure gives parents the tools to control the personal information that companies can collect from children under the age of 13. It would also prevent companies from finding a child’s geolocation and stop encouraging kids to provide their personal details. The measure is sponsored by Democrat Donna Bullock who’s from Philadelphia.
