One of northern Pennsylvania’s congressmen doesn’t think the federal government should pay the entire cost to replace the destroyed bridge in Baltimore. Congressman Dan Meuser said President Biden jumped the gun when he promised that taxpayers from across the country would foot the entire bill. Meuser, who is a Republican, says President Biden is too quick to stick American taxpayers with the costs. Meuser says it’d be a better strategy to use some of the money the president has earmarked for electric vehicles, or ask Singapore’s government to share some of the costs as it was a Singapore-flagged container ship that crashed into the bridge.
