Professional and student pharmacists are asking state legislators to help pass reforms in how pharmacy benefit managers operate. The groups say the savings from negotiated drug prices don’t always get passed along to the health insurers or pharmacies that dispense prescriptions. Senate Bill 1000 and House Bill 1993 will ensure pharmacies are reimbursed for those costs. The measures also aim to stop the process of “spread pricing.” Both measures are said to have bi-partisan support.
