The State House has passed a measure that supporters say would strengthen distracted driving offenses. The legislation called Paul Miller’s Law would ban drivers from engaging with their mobile devices and make it a primary offense to do so. That would cover actions such as sending emails and playing video games while driving. State Representative Ed Neilson says currently, it’s actually legal to watch a movie while driving down the street. The bill would also require police to keep records of who they’re pulling over, and why, for later collection. It now heads to the State Senate for further consideration.
