AI Bill Moves to State Senate

A bill that would change the state’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law regarding the use of artificial intelligence has passed the state House. The new language would let consumers know when artificial intelligence has been used to create written text, images, audio or video. Before the vote on the house floor Wednesday, The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry expressed its opposition to the measure because a notice would have to be displayed when the content is first shown to consumers. They say such a stipulation could cause businesses to be sued.
