A suspect was arrested by Altoona Police yesterday afternoon after an hours-long standoff in the area of 10th Street and 1st Avenue. Arrested was 45 year old Al Mu Min Yusef Diaz, who was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot and kill his ex-wife. For nearly 4 hours yesterday, The Altoona Police Tactical Response Team tried to persuade Diaz to exit the residence. Around 5 pm yesterday, police were finally able to convince Diaz to surrender. He was taken into custody without incident. Diaz is facing charges of possessing a firearm, terroristic threats, harassment and numerous other counts. More charges are pending.
