Yesterday in Blair County, local leaders marked Child Abuse Prevention Month. A ceremony took place outside the courthouse where a flag was raised in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month in an effort to draw attention to the issue. Blair County Children, Youth and Families Administrator Tiffany Treese reportedly said that her agency investigated nearly 700 cases of child abuse last year. Yesterday, during the ceremony, the community was urged to get involved in the lives of local children in an effort to prevent child abuse.
